I found the Meet-up group by accident from the Untappd website, where I record my beers in slightly irreverent fashion usually (those of a more serious persuasion use Ratebeer or Beer Advocate). Just like Untappd the Meet-up groups are for all types from newbie to aficionado, but probably not the real geek. Only one way to find out if these things are for you.
